I think this is the 1st video which includes your Communion Bread and Wine with closing prayer! That was so wonderful to watch so I really appreciate you including that portion of The Gathering worship service. I have enjoyed listening to your Communion words on the podcasts but to see you and the congregation at that important part is very special. So thank you, Bobby, for having that in the video!
One other point that relates to your sermon but may seem strange:
If one reads SPACE by James Michener, he explains how they taught astronauts to dock with another spacecraft, a very trickey manouver which goes contrary to our instincts. As you may know, to catch up to the leading spacecraft you have to slow down! This is because if you speed up you gain altitude making your path of orbit greater, thus you are going faster than the other craft but it will take longer to reach the other craft.
In other words, once we are dealing outside our earth we need to slow down to catch up as speeding up makes it impossible to catch up. If I did not explain it well I guess one has to read Space but for me it came to mind in the sermon; Slow Down to get in tune with the rhythm of God and see His world and hear what He wants to say to us. Speed up and you will get away from His presence, overwhelmed by all the "noise".
Just what I needed, Bobby, before I go off to bed here in Toronto, Canada. I'll talk to Him about your sermon and see what I "feel" from Him...But I already know and feel that He is pleased with what you said!
Bobby, worshiping is an important part for me. I feel so good that I had the possibility to be a part of it this spring, singing and the communion. - Blessings, Swiss Rosemarie
Bobby, A wonderful service. I like the way you serve communio. The message was filled with some important thought and illustrations. It was meaningful to me as the Lord has been dealing with me about "quiet time" in my life. We are planting a church and after 42 years of ministry I am so blessed to be in HIS will. Keep us the good work my brother.
One more comment, if I may. I have several Bible translations as different translations and 'plain language', try to make things easier. All these attempts are good but move us further from the translations poured over by monks and clerics!
Your example of Heavens rather than Heaven is a great example of why we need to be not too fixed on a word or phrase without considering the context or setting or even the time of day of the words He spoke or other writers are quoted.
I, for instance now use The Lord's Prayer in the morning as a great start to the day. As it says, "Give us this day.." and I find that most appropriate for starting my days. Night prayer I use to review the day's events with Him and talk of concerns I or others are having.
The New King James seems best for me to keep handy even as I may read another version.
Glad you brought up the point Heaven/Heavens translation from Hebrew, Bobby, as it really is an important distinction for me.
